Casa Hogar Bienvenidos (Welcome Home Outreach Ministries) is working hard to meet the needs of families in our community of Vicente Guerrero on the Baja peninsula. Welcome Home provides free daycare for preschool-age children from needy families, particularly families of single mothers. Each morning we pick up the children at their homes all around the area and bring them into our facility for preschool. They are cleaned up, given two solid meals, as well as a safe place to learn and play in a stimulating Christian preschool environment.

Our children come from all kinds of family situations — from homes with healthy Christian relationships to those that have been destroyed by drugs or infidelity. But all of our families are struggling to make ends meet. Many of the families are here because of the crops produced in this area, and for some families work is seasonal, meaning that a hard time may be just over the horizon. Always, the challenge is to keep food on the table, clothing on growing children’s backs, and a roof over the family’s heads.

Our AMIGOS Child Sponsorship program offers you – as an individual, a family, small group, or church — an opportunity to team up with us in offering prayer and financial support to a child in the Welcome Home preschool. It costs about $100 per child each month to provide the loving Christian care offered at Welcome Home. This covers everything from transportation to staff salaries, from food to utilities. Welcome Home receives no financial support from any Mexican government agency; we are solely dependent on donations. Your child sponsorship will help us continue to offer free preschool care to the families in our community.

When you decide that you would like to become a Welcome Home AMIGO, and make a difference in the life of one of our children, you will have the opportunity to select a particular child, or we will be happy to select a child on your behalf. We will send you a photograph and information about the child selected so you will know the needs and how to pray. You may want to print and post the picture, or place it as your computer desktop background, as a constant reminder to pray for your child.

If a child should leave the program…

Because God heals families, or opens other doors, some families may be able to keep their child at home, or they may wish to visit family for many months (as many often do), or may move away from the area. All children will eventually graduate and hopefully go on to grammar school. If a situation takes the child you are sponsoring out of the Welcome Home program, you will be advised and given all available information, as well as the opportunity of sponsoring another student.
